How to add a Website in Google & Bing Webmaster? | Website Indexing & Crawling | SEO Checklist 2023
Submitting your website to Google Webmaster and Bing Webmaster requires tools to get your website crawled and indexed in the search engine.
To submit your website in the Google Webmaster tool, follow the steps –
1. First, open the Google Webmaster Console from the search box.
2. Now click on “Add Property.”
3. Then it will give you two options, i.e., Domain or URL Prefix.
In domain verification, you must set up the domain and verify it with the CNAME or txt records. Here all the URLs are accessible, like subdomains, etc.
In the case of the URL Prefix method, you need to verify single property that is specific for HTTP or https and www or non-www. This type of verification method does not support subdomains etc. It provides multiple verification methods, i.e., HTML tag and HTML file that needs to be uploaded in the root directory, google analytics, google tag manager and also with domain name provider.
After verifying your website successfully your website will be connected with Google Webmaster Console. Now you need to go to sitemap option and enter your Website’s sitemap URL in the given box. Then it will fetch your pages and indexes in Google Search.
To submit your website in Bing Webmaster, follow these steps –
1. First open Bing Webmaster Console from the search.
2. Then click on “Add Website” button from the top sites list.
3. Then it will give you two options to go ahead, one is to import website from Google Search Console and second is to add it via website URL.
4. If you want to add website from URL then you need to verify it with any of the methods like by adding a HTML file in the root directory, by adding HTML tag into the head of the website and by adding a DNS record.
5. After successfully adding the website, you need to add your website sitemap URL to fetch all the pages and index in Bing Search.
