Now, here we are at HostGator.com. What we are going to do is order hosting, and when we do so we are going to be prompted to register a domain name at the same time.

I’m going to click here, under hosting, on Order Now, and I’m going to search for some likely domain names that I hope are available for the niche I’ve chosen, which deals with home solar and wind energy.

Now, let’s just try that one: homesolarandwindenergy.com.

That is available. Now, let’s go back, and check a couple of others: homesolarandwindpower.com; O.K., that one is already registered. So, I can go back, and, let’s see, we shall try, how about: solarandwindpowerathome.com; O.K., we’ll make a note of that, because that’s available.

Let’s simply try solarandwindpower.com; that’s registered. Solarandwindenergy.com; that’s registered.

So, let’s stick with the first one: homesolarandwindenergy.com. O.K., we can leave that at one year for now, and continue.

The Baby has unlimited domains allowed, and it’s $7.95 a month. If you are building an online empire, I highly recommend getting the Baby or above, because you’ll definitely want more than one domain as you move along and create new sites. Now, you can scroll down and see all of the other features and benefits of each package. Alright. You can do that at your leisure before you order, but I’ll close this tab, choose the Baby here, and click Continue.

Now the $7.95 price that we saw on the Baby hosting package applies if you order the 36 month package. $286.20 divided by 36 is approximately $7.95. O.K. You can simply choose monthly, it’s a couple of dollars more, but still not very expensive, if you don’t have the major outlay at the moment; and click on Calculate Totals. O.K.

So, your total startup cost for your first month for your domain and your hosting, is $24.95. The domain is something that you’ll be reregistering every year, and of course if you are on the monthly plan, this is what you are going to pay every month. So, $24.95 the first month, $9.95 for the additional months, until a year has passed.
