Setup Google and Bing Webmaster Tools and a sitemap in WordPress

This video walks through the process of submitting your WordPress website to both Google and Bing Webmaster Tools. Both require verification of ownership so in this example I use a plugin that adds header and footer script areas into your WordPress dashboard so that you can easily add the verification code.

Once both Google and Bing Webmaster Tools have been setup and verified a sitemap is created and uploaded to Google and Bing webmaster tools.

To create and XLM sitemap in your WordPress website you can install a simple plugin that creates the sitemap for you. Once a sitemap is created you just need to tell Google and Bing where the file is, which is usually your website URL /sitemap.xml.
