The F-14A was the initial two-seat, twin-engine, all-weather interceptor fighter variant for the U.S. Navy and first flew on 21 December 1970 and made its first deployment in 1974 with the U.S. Navy aboard USS Enterprise (CVN-65). Kit has fine engraved panel lines and surface features, well detailed tandem cockpit, optional swept or extended wings, optional (airbag and sealing plates, canopy, nozzle, refueling probe and boarding ladder (deployed or folded away), (2) figures (seated pilot and Radar Intercept Officer RIO), detailed wheel wells and optional undercarriage, armament (AIM-7E Sparrows, AIM-9G/H Sidewinders, AIM-54A Phoenix and drop tanks). Decals and color painting reference for (3) aircraft: (x2) U.S. Navy Fighter Squadrons – VF-84 (Jolly Rogers) GAG Bird, USS Nimitz, 1979 and VF-2 (Bounty Hunters) USS Enterprise 1976; 3-6079, Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force (IRIAF), Tactical Fighter Base 8, 1980 – includes mask, stencil data and markings, seatbelts and cockpit accents.
