EU antitrust regulators are planning to open a full-scale investigation into US chipmaker Broadcom’s proposed $61 billion deal to acquire cloud computing firm VMware, Reuters reported. Authorities reportedly had a meeting with Broadcom earlier this week and are scheduled to complete their initial probe on December 20. The proposed acquisition is the second largest globally so far this year.
