Accelerating Commerce: Mercado Libre + GitHub

Mercado Libre is on a mission to democratize commerce and access to financial services. All of that work begins on GitHub, where the company’s more than 10,000 developers collaborate on Latin America’s largest e-commerce and digital payments platform to create new opportunities for people who may never have had a bank account before. Mercado Libre is rolling out GitHub Copilot to the company’s entire developer organization to help keep them laser-focused on their mission. It’s already increasing productivity and satisfaction, with some developers likening the experience of using GitHub Copilot to magic. SVP of Technology Sebastian Barrios says it’s cut his iteration time by 50%: “Having the autocomplete system write the entire script for me is an amazing experience.”
