In this video, I’ll show you how to install Redhat Enterprise Linux 7 on VMware ESXI (2023) and install Redhat Linux 8 on VMware. Plus, I’ll give you some tips and tricks along the way so that the installation process goes as smoothly as possible!

Step 1: Download the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 ISO image from the official website.
Step 2. Log in to the ESXi host using the vSphere client or the web interface.
Step 3. In the left-hand pane, click on the “Virtual Machines” tab.
Step 4. Click on the “Create/Register VM” button.
Step 5. Choose whether you want to create a new virtual machine or register an existing virtual machine.
Step 6. If you choose to create a new virtual machine, select the operating system you want to install and give the virtual machine a name.
Step 7. Choose the storage location where you want to store the virtual machine files.
Step 8. Set the amount of memory, number of processors, and other virtual hardware settings.
Step 9. Choose whether you want to use a new virtual hard disk or an existing one.
Step 10. If you choose to use a new virtual hard disk, select the storage location and size for the disk.
Step 11: Choose the disk type as “SCSI” and the disk mode as “Thin Provision” or “Thick Provision” as per your requirement and click on the “Next” button.
Step 12: Review the virtual machine configuration and click on the “Finish” button to create the virtual machine.
Step 13. Follow the prompts to complete the virtual machine creation process.
Step 14: Power on the virtual machine and select the Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 ISO image as the installation media.
Step 15: The installer will start automatically, and you will be prompted to choose the installation language. Select your preferred language and click on the “Continue” button.
Step 16: Next, you will be prompted to select the installation destination. You can choose to install Red Hat Linux alongside another operating system or install it as the primary operating system. Select your preferred option and click on the “Continue” button.
Step 17: You will be prompted to configure the network settings. If you are installing Red Hat Linux on a physical machine, you will need to configure the network settings manually. If you are installing it on a virtual machine, the network settings will be configured automatically. Click on the “Configure” button to configure the network settings.
Step 18: Next, you will be prompted to create a root user account. The root user has full access to the system and should be protected with a strong password. Create a username and password and click on the “Continue” button.
Step 19: You will be prompted to configure the date and time settings. Select your time zone and configure the date and time settings.
Step 20: The installer will prompt you to select the packages you want to install. You can choose from several package groups or customize the installation to include or exclude specific packages. Select your preferred package group and click on the “Continue” button.
Step 21: The installation process will begin. The installer will copy the necessary files and configure the system settings. This process may take some time, depending on the speed of your computer.
Step 22: Once the installation is complete, the installer will prompt you to reboot your computer. Remove the installation media and click on the “Reboot” button.
Step 23: After the reboot, you will be prompted to log in with your username and password. Congratulations! You have successfully installed Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 on your computer.
