DHCP Request: The device receiving the DHCP offer can accept the offer by sending a DHCP request to the DHCP server, indicating its acceptance of the offered IP address and configuration settings.

DHCP Acknowledgment: The DHCP server receives the DHCP request and responds with a DHCP acknowledgment, confirming the allocation of the IP address and providing any additional configuration information.

IP Address Lease: The DHCP server assigns the IP address to the device for a specific lease duration. After the lease duration expires, the device must renew the lease with the DHCP server to continue using the IP address.

By using a DHCP server, network administrators can efficiently manage IP address allocation and ensure that devices on the network have valid and unique IP addresses. It simplifies network administration and eliminates the need for manual IP address configuration, especially in large networks with numerous devices. .
