Delphi Killings: Lawyer's say Allen's health getting worse | NewsNation Now

Richard Allen is set to stand trial in the 2017 killings of Abby Williams, 13, and 14-year-old Libby German in Delphi, Indiana. Allen’s defense team says his mental and physical health is deteriorating in isolation lockup.
Bob Motta, a defense attorney and host of the Defense Diaries podcast, says it’s in the best interest of the trial to move Allen to another location, as his issues with his pre-trial detainment conditions could lead to a potential conviction getting overturned on appeal.
“At the end of the day, this trial’s about Abby and Libby and getting them justice,” Motta said. “If this is the guy, then we want a fair trial. We don’t want to have to do it again.”
