Next Gen Gaming AI Will Be INCREDIBLE – Nvidia's ACE Technology

Nvidia has formally unveiled its latest technology to push AI into games – ACE (Avatar Cloud Engine) which allows fluid conversation between player characters and NPCs. The technology leverages 3 key nvidia technologies, Ndemo, omniverse and RIVA which allows developers to create a backstory, personality and details for the NPC and then that NPC will become part of a living, breathing world.

This provides a much greater level of immersion than ever before. Here, Nvidia are working with Convia, and produced a store owner (Jin) who can interact with the player. The game is rendered using DLSS 3 and nvidia’s RTX technology for greater realism. Players can communicate and speak with Jin verbally, not relying on simple text prompts.

Currently Avatar Cloud Engine is still very early on in the concept stage; but it provides a glimpse to the future of what we can expect from video games. NPCs become alive, conversations can occur more naturally rather than just a few lines of pre-recorded dialog. The next generation of gaming will be extremely exciting indeed!
