UDP’s Synshar Kupar Roy Lyngdoh Thabah wins Sohiong seat by polling over 51% votes

The United Democratic Party (UDP) has won the Sohiong Assembly seat, taking its tally in the 60-member Meghalaya Legislative Assembly to 12 seats.

UDP candidate Synshar Kupar Roy Lyngdoh Thabah comfortably won the polls with a margin of 3422 votes, including postal ballots, securing a total of 16679 votes of the total 32161 votes polled. National People’s Party (NPP) candidate Samlin Malngiang secured the second spot with 13,257 votes.
