The first ROG Matrix since RTX 2080 Ti series has been unveiled by ASUS today during a dedicated event. The company has launched a new graphics card featuring an All-in-One cooling solution with a massive 360mm radiator and three ROG MF-12S ARGB fans to keep the card cool below the target 60°C at 450W TGP, claims ASUS. ASUS’ new Matrix will be one of the first cards to feature liquid metal on the die, which is one of the most challenging things to do on a GPU. The company claims that their custom designed coldplate will cover the GPU, memory and VRM section and will ensure that no liquid metal spill will happen. The company has developed a technique to applied it safely, even when the card will be installed vertically. It is worth noting that ASUS has experience with liquid metal as this type of thermal compound is used on all gaming ROG laptops these days. One cannot see any cables on the radiator, as the fans use magnetic connector that will make cable management easier. Naturally, there should still be a cable to synchronize the colors and feed the power to the fans and radiator, but as ASUS claims, this cable is hidden in one of the cooling tubes. That said, ASUS has solved one of the biggest design flaws of all graphics with AIO coolers.
