The VMware Validated Design development process starts by gathering design best practices from VMware Product Engineering, VMware Global Support Services, VMware Internal IT, VMware Professional Services and Partners to create a standardized design. Then VMware SDDC Engineering authors reusable guidance and tests end-to-end, real word use cases such as installations, upgrades, and operational procedures, against the same standardized design. Customers planning “do-it-yourself” deployments also benefit from following this design, confident that future product upgrades, patches, and so on, have been tested against a configuration identical to their own. Furthermore, VMware Professional Services and partners can build delivery collateral based on this design, knowing that they are deploying with the best possible configuration for a particular outcome.
