OneDrive vs SharePoint – DON'T make this mistake

It’s a big mistake and I keep seeing it every week.

“We have moved all of our company data into OneDrive and it’s causing us a few problems”

Your company data isn’t supposed to be in OneDrive.

The clue is in the name:

ONEdrive (one, single) = your own data. You might store your payslips/expenses here or other bits of information you don’t necessarily need people to see.

SHAREpoint (sharing) = your company data. You might have a Sharepoint document site for your marketing team or your finance department etc.

If you have gone in the wrong direction, it’s all easily fixed.
