Creating a Bar Chart on iOS with Swift Charts

In iOS 16, Apple made it a lot easier for developers to show their app’s data in the form of a Bar Chart, so don’t be surprised if you start seeing more bar charts in your favorite iOS apps!

In this video, I walk you through how easy it is to make a simple bar chart using Swift Charts. I cover the .foregroundColor(by:) modifier for more complex bar charts along with how to use the Chart view, but this just scratches the surface.

You can also make various types of horizontal bar charts and stylize your charts in different ways. For example, you can put Y axis labels on the left instead of the right, change the chart’s grid lines from solid to dashed or vice versa, remove grid lines entirely, change colors, change fonts, and more.

I hope you get something out of this, happy coding!
