To configure an ONT (Optical Network Terminal) through a GPON (Gigabit Passive Optical Network) OLT (Optical Line Terminal), you can follow the steps below:

Connect the ONT to the GPON OLT using a fiber optic cable. Make sure the cable is properly connected and the status of the ONT is ‘online’ on the OLT.

Access the GPON OLT using a web browser or a terminal program like Putty. Enter the IP address of the OLT to access the login page.

Enter the login credentials to access the OLT configuration interface. The username and password will be provided by your service provider or network administrator.

Locate the ONT configuration section in the OLT interface. This may vary depending on the model and manufacturer of the OLT.

Select the ONT you want to configure from the list of available ONTs. You can identify the ONT by its serial number or MAC address.

Configure the WAN interface of the ONT by selecting the appropriate WAN type, such as PPPoE, DHCP, or static IP. Enter the necessary parameters for the WAN connection, such as username, password, IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, and DNS server.

Save the configuration changes and apply them to the ONT. The ONT will reboot and the new configuration will take effect.

Verify the ONT WAN connectivity by checking the status of the WAN interface on the OLT interface. You can also check the connectivity of the ONT by pinging its IP address from a connected device.

That’s it! Your ONT is now configured and ready to use on the GPON network.
