The Desk to Datacenter Journey: Episode 5 – Creating a Windows Server 2022 VM

Today we deploy our first virtual machine!! How awesome is that? We’ve gone so far in such a little amount of time but our datacenter is really shaping up, sadly it’s still just on a desk.

Windows Server is a DeFacto product that lives in almost everyones environment.

If you have windows desktops in your enterprise you more than likely have windows servers because the cost is usually covered in the site license.

You also probably have Active Diretory, Windows DNS, Windows DHCP, Windows Update servers, SCCM, Hyper-V, SQL server machines, and sadly even IIS.

Window can do quite a lot and while we don’t cover it here, Windows Core is exciting along with WSL (Windows Subsystem for Linux)
