Debra meets with Étienne de Montille of Domaine de Montille, whose family has been a leading producer in Burgundy for the last 450 years, with the name attached to the winery for the last 300 years. He explains why the “de” in his name is the mark of the aristocratic roots and they discuss what Volnay wine is like these days (should it change?!). Étienne offers an interesting comparison between Volnay and Pommard and they muse about the reaction of the Asian market to Volnay wines, versus their Grand Cru neighbours, with Étienne showing a great understanding of the Asian wine market.
