Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End is an action-adventure game developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Computer Entertainment in 2016. It serves as the fourth main entry in the Uncharted series and takes place several years after the events of Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. The game follows Nathan Drake, a former treasure hunter who is persuaded out of retirement by his presumed-dead brother Samuel. He embarks on a quest with his longtime partner, Victor Sullivan, to locate Henry Avery’s long-lost treasure.

A Thief’s End is played from a third-person perspective and incorporates platformer elements. Players must solve puzzles and use firearms, melee combat, and stealth to combat enemies. The online multiplayer mode allows up to ten players to engage in cooperative and competitive modes.

Development of Uncharted 4 began in 2011, shortly after the release of Uncharted 3, under the leadership of creative director Amy Hennig and game director Justin Richmond. However, development was disrupted in 2014 when Hennig and Richmond left Naughty Dog, and they were subsequently replaced by Neil Druckmann and Bruce Straley. The development team aimed to incorporate open-world gameplay elements, with larger levels to encourage free-roaming exploration and combat. They also focused on humanizing the relationship between Nathan and Elena more than in previous games.

A Thief’s End was released in May 2016 exclusively for the PlayStation 4. It was the first game developed by Naughty Dog specifically for this platform, and the team took advantage of the hardware to process larger dynamic environments
