More rail chaos planned for the Sydney train network, and some fare free days | 7NEWS

Chaos is expected across Sydney’s rail network this Monday and next Friday when the NSW rail union conducts more strike action.

Rail, Tram & Bus Union NSW Secretary Alex Claassens said there will only be 30% of services operating on Monday and Friday.

Rail union members have been in a dispute with the NSW Government since mid-2021 over employee conditions and wages.

The premier said he has spoken twice to Mr Claassens over the past 24 hours, and the government will attend a mediation session on Tuesday.

As a concession for the inconvenience that commuters will experience on Monday and Friday, the NSW Government is offering fare-free travel across the rail network for 5 days from Monday to Friday next week (21st-25th November).
