Improving your ability to hold FTP for longer is progress, riding longer at aerobic effort with a lower heart rate shows progress, and climbing steep long hills faster with less effort shows improved pacing and cadence efficiency. Being a confident faster cyclist is not just about a big FTP. It’s so much more than a number.
