  1. I got my 1070 for $100 after Christmas due to someone wanting to get rid of it on Craigslist. I opened it up to nothing but dust and old thermal paste, but otherwise perfect condition. Now it plays like it's brand new. I had no clue they were going for that much now days, I just kinda bought it because I was building a PC for a friend

  2. Its kind of funny it only took couple of years to see the greed from Nvidia. Nvidia once were for consumers, now they are for the investors.

  3. I've had my 2nd hand R9 390 which I paid £140 for in 2017 for 5 and a half years now, finally I can get a GTX 1070 for not too much over £100 now in 2022. Not rushing though as it's still summer and I might go for a brand new RX 6700 10GB they are only £329 and offer best bang for buck by looks of it for new at the moment. I'm going to hang on a few more months I think to see how it shakes out as I've been wanting a new card for over 3 years now a bit longer won't hurt. Will be nice to have a card that actually pushes my overclocked 8700K a bit which has been ticking over the past 4 and a half years. New RTX 3060 12gb or RTX 2060 12gb are other possibilities too.
Money isn't an issue but I always pay the price I want or I won't buy as playing games isn't that important in the scheme of things really.

  4. this channel is probably the first ever youtube channel that actually shows how GPUs perform on something like Low, Medium and High presets, especially at different resolutions
    great job!

  5. Back in late 2019 I snagged one for $140 used. Cheaper Best Buy PNY version.
Just bought a top tier Asus Strix 1070 for $100. And will be buying another one in a few days.
For my family and secondary Media PC these are great still for the non triple A titles they play.
Finally will sell off a GTX970 and 1050ti.

  6. i have had my GTX 1070 for the last 6-7 years this graphics card has not let me down just yet. its been great to me and i love it.

  7. I got one for $170 in June 2022, for my first build I don’t think that’s too bad. I don’t play many new games and if I do it’s mainly indie stuff.

  8. I'm playing Forza horizon 5 and some other ganes in 4K with this card, some others like Red dead redemption runs at 1440p, I wanted a RTX, but you know, is not a very good idea to buy one right now.

  9. Still own this card, it's overclocked and still keeps cool. Performance is still good, except in warzone it struggles but that might be due to the games bad optimization.

  10. Thoughts Steve, I purchased two gtx 1070s for £150 each for me and the wife to tide us over till next gen. Good value buys or NAA?

  11. The 1070 is a great card. It was and still is. But like it always is. If you like playing games for the fun and experience of the game. You do not need a 800 dollar/Euro graphics card. However if you are a graphics freak then whatever. So far there has not been a video game in my opinion that has needed you to buy a monster rig to be able to enjoy it.

I still use my 1070 on a 240hz monitor and there is no probs whatsoever. My motherboard and cpu is from 2015, and i don't even know the specs on them. Neither do i care. The stuff works and that is good enough!

    Happy gaming!

  12. Still rocking my GTX 1070. Playing NFS Heat and Elden Ring above 60fps. Just learn how to clean your GPU and replace the thermal paste. Or better yet, if you still don't have the budget for the latest RTX GPUs, buy a NZXT GPU AIO mount, then liquid cool your gpu. It's cheap and it can make your GPU last.

  13. I think I got lucky, someone was selling a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 on Facebook market place, Though I payed $350 and did a stress test on FurMark, ran it for 30 minutes and no errors. Solid card.

  14. I7 6700, gtx 1070ti, 32gigs ram and 3 1tb SSDs with a 8gig mechanical for bulk storage. Had this system since 2017. The only thing I can’t upgrade is the cpu, mb won’t support anything higher. Im not changing a damn thing until prices go down lol. One of the best things people can do and fairly cheaply is upgrade your mechanical Hds to SSDs. Excellent video!
