Train cancellations across Sydney rail network | 7NEWS

For the third time this week, thousands of train services have been cancelled or delayed across the Sydney rail network.

Train guards have been telling passengers that today’s issues are due to the chaos created by wires falling across a train at Panania yesterday.

One train guard told passengers that there was a ‘bottleneck’ of trains funnelling into the city, and this was causing trains to stop for lengthy periods between platforms.

Additionally, there are no trains operating on a large part of western Sydney this weekend as Transport for NSW conducts track work. Passengers are being bused between Parramatta and Olympic Park, and also between Merrylands and Olympic Park. No trains are operating between Bondi Junction and Central on the eastern suburbs rail line due to track work.

In this youtube upload are comments from frustrated passengers who spoke 7NEWS when the issues began at Panania yesterday.
