5G is the next generation of mobile networks, promising faster speeds, lower latency, and more reliable connectivity than ever before. If you’re interested in building your own 5G network for research, testing, or experimentation purposes, this tutorial is for you.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to set up a 5G network using two open-source tools: Open5GS and UERANSIM. Open5GS is an open-source 5G core network implementation, while UERANSIM is an open-source 5G radio access network (RAN) simulator.

We’ll walk you through each step of the process, from setting up the necessary software to configuring the network components and testing the network. Here’s what you can expect to learn in this tutorial:

– Installing and configuring Open5GS: We’ll show you how to download and install Open5GS, and walk you through the configuration process to set up the core network components.
– Setting up UERANSIM: We’ll guide you through the installation and configuration of UERANSIM, which will act as the 5G RAN simulator.
– Connecting Open5GS and UERANSIM: We’ll show you how to connect the core network and the RAN simulator, and how to configure the various network interfaces.
– Testing the network: We’ll guide you through the process of testing the network to ensure that everything is working correctly, and we’ll show you how to troubleshoot common issues.

In this video, I’ll show you how to install Open5GS alongside the required dependency of NodeJs, MongoDB, and Webui console on an Ubuntu Virtual machine.
