This video gives you a step by step tutorial on how to point your godaddy domain to your Namecheap hosting account using Namecheap nameservers. Before you can get started, you’ll need to have both a GoDaddy account and a Namecheap account.

Once you’re all set up, log in to your GoDaddy account. Click on Visit My Account. Then click on Domains, find the domain name with which you’ll be working, and then click on Manage DNS. Scroll down to the Nameservers section and click on the Change button. Choose Custom as the nameserver type and in the two fields below, enter the following values: dns1.registrar-servers.com and dns2.registrar-servers.com. Then click on Save.

It may take some time to point the nameservers over, so you might want to give it 5 – 10 minutes to ensure everything has been processed properly. In another tab, open your Namecheap account. On the Dashboard, hover over the icons in the Products column and then click on Manage. On the next page, scroll down to the Software section and click on Login to cPanel button. Enter your login information. Scroll down to the Domains section and click on Addon Domains. Enter the domain name in the New Domain Name field and click on Add Domain. After this is complete, all you’ll need to do in install a content management system on your site. To install WordPress, just go back to the cPanel and click on Install.

You’ve now set up a GoDaddy domain name on a Namecheap hosting account.
